E-Purse

Is 5 groszy enough to take a bus or a tram?*
it is possible with the E-PURSE

Electronic purse (e-purse)

is a modern, cheap and convienient way to pay for bus or tram journey on day public transport services. The new offer can help replace more expensive and inconvienient single fare paper tickets.

ELECTRONIC PURSE FOR EVERYONE

Every passenger who has the Czestochowa City Card can use the new type of fare payment. The e-purse can be used on its own or mixed with any electronic long-term travel card including the free fare ticket. You can find the application form required to apply for the electronic card, information on how to use it and all other details in Czestochowa City Card

IMPORTANT: persons entitled to free travel can also use their ticket as an e-purse. In this case only standard fare ticket top-up values, listed in the top up value table, apply. Paying for additional people using the card works exactly the same as paying for additional people using personal city card for both standard and reduced fares.

YOU ALWAYS SAVE MONEY

Fare that you pay using the electronic purse is always cheaper than a single fare paper ticket. Depending on the top up amount and length of travel, you can save as much as 1.40 zl on one journey.

TOP UP MORE, TRAVEL FOR LESS

You can top up your e-purse with the following amounts:
- 20, 50, 80 i 100 zl (if you use standard fare ticket)
- 10, 25, 40 i 50 zl (if you use reduced fare ticket)
and then use it during unrestricted period until your money runs out.
The more you top up each time, the lower the cost of travel (You can find the fare charge value table, dependant on top up amount and travel zone, in TICKET TARIFF section).

* NOW ONLY 5 GROSZY IS ENOUGH TO TO TAKE A BUS OR TRAM

In order to use the electronic purse you must have money in your account. If the amount the passenger has in the account is lower than fare value (* but not lower than 5 groszy) the system will automatically credit the fare and then deduct the difference when you top up the card next time. When topping up the next time the amount recorded on e-purse is reduced by the credited amount.

DON’T PAY NEEDLESSLY

Every jouney requires validation. After boarding and touching in the system deducts an amount from your account depending on the amount you topped up your e-purse with. The necessary condition for charging the right amount of money on your electronic card for the journey travelled is not only the validation of the e-wallet when boarding but also when getting off a vehicle. If you want a refund for overpaid journey you must “touch out” by presenting your card to the reader just before you get off a vehicle on your destination stop (before the doors close and before the vehicle drives off your destination stop). Once you touch yourself out, the system will automatically touch out all passengers that had been touched in for that journey.

ALL YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS WILL BENEFIT

You can pay for up to seven people on any one journey using the e-purse. In order to pay for an additional person, after validating „own” journey, press button nr. 1 for standard fare and nr 2 for reduced fare and present the card to the reader. To pay for every additional person, repeat the instructions above.

ATTENTION: Bearer type of ticket can only be used to pay a standard fare ticket. Therefore, when paying for additional people using this type of ticket you can only pay a standard fare price. However, when paying for additional people, whilst using a personal city card, you can pay both standard and reduced fares. Example: A person who’s in possession of a personal city card can pay a reduced fare for a person that is entitled to pay reduced fare or standard fare for a person who does not have such entitlement.

REMEMBER

1. All types of electronic tickets require validation.

2. The fare price deduction from your account depends on the value with which your e-purse was last topped up.
Example: after topping up the card with 100 zlotys and then topping it up again with 20 zlotys before you use up all money from the first top-up, the system automatically starts charging fares according to the value of the last top-up.

3. Buttons 1 and 2 on a validator are used to pay respectively for additional person’s standard or reduced fare.

4. Button 3 on a validator is used to check card balance. After pressing the button and presenting a card to a reader you can obtain information on your account’s balance. If there is only an electronic purse saved on your card information on the remaining balance and the amount of validations appears on screen. However, should there be a long-term travel card as well as the e-purse saved on the electronic card, the screen shows first the expiry date of your travel card and a number of days left and then the balance of your electronic purse.

5. Money available on the city card can only be used to pay for travel fares. Refund of unused money on your card is not possible.
